After its launch in 2010, it grew to instant success from readers across the globe. Readers from New Zealand, Africa, Australia, Brazil and more have flooded the pages to read, view, and comments on the conditions in Indian Country, USA. In late 2011 the newest edition of the network www.facebook.com/tamahawknativenewspage was created, and reports on the same news stories as the original page. Since the launch in 2010, dozens of native news networks have emerged, signifying the need for mass media coverage. The main focus of the news network is to provide Natives and Non-Natives a news source. There is not a channel available, and the radio stations are limited. This News Network bridges the gap from the poorest to the wealthiest in terms of awareness. What is taking place is Indian Country has long been hidden from the public view. With the new age of resources, and the availability to report on the atrocities in Indian Country this is a positive step for the indigenous. The Native News enhances social protection and strengthens dialogue on Indian related issues. TamaHawk Native News does not accept any financial support from industries, grants, or private donations. The research and reporting is strictly done on a volunteer basis. Although response times vary the email address is tamahawknews@gmail.com. Here are some of the news articles that have been published. The content is available to be redistributed as long as the source is provided.
