Taj Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (or Taj API) is an international pharmaceutical api company based in Mumbai, India. Taj Pharmaceuticals was founded in 1195. It makes many active pharmaceuticals ingredients which are used in pharmaceuticals unit to produce medicines. The active pharmaceuticals ingredients of this company are used in 81 countries. The generic and brand name drugs that are manufactured by other companies in the United States, Europe, Asia and worldwide procure raw material from this company.
Taj Api introduced Oseltamivir Phosphate ( INN) which is drug used for H5N1 avian influenza. The company was first to manufacture the raw martial for such a cause.
Its products are in several therapeutic areas, including cardiology, diabetology, gastroenterology, psychiatry, neurology, respiratory, and orthopedics.
History
Established in 2004 with huge investment Taj Pharmaceuticals started their API plant for their own pharmaceuticals finished brands and generic medicines. The company started with 9 products and added more than 100 products till 2010. The API Division has grown largely through a combination of internal growth, and acquisition of other pharmaceutical and chemical companies. For example, it bought Mulberry Chemicals technology in 2009. It is one of the leading Indian-based pharma API manufacturing companies in India.
