T.J. Maloney

Thomas J. "T.J." Maloney is an American businessman, based in New York City. He is the CEO of Lincolnshire Management, a private equity firm that invests in middle-market companies.
Early life and education
Maloney was born in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up in Pelham Manor, a suburb adjacent New York City. He attended Iona Preparatory School, Boston College (B.A. 1975) and the Fordham University School of Law (J.D. 1979).
In 2001 Maloney and Lincolnshire Management were sued by activist investors that claimed Maloney personally misappropriated $7.6 million from the investment fund. The case was repeatedly dismissed by the courts, because of excessive conflicts of interest by the plaintiff, before eventually being settled for just over $7 million.
Legacy
In 2007 the T.J. Maloney Chair in Business Law at Fordham's School of Law was established and endowed by Maloney. In November 2008, Maloney and his wife Nancy made a $5 million gift to endow the T.J. and Nancy Maloney Library at Fordham Law School. In September 2011, Boston College dedicated Maloney Hall in recognition of the Maloney family's commitment to Boston College. He is a current member of the Boston College Board of Trustees, a former member of the Fordham University Board of Trustees and a former member of the Tilton School Board of Trustees. He also is currently the Co-chairman of the Boston College Wall Street Council.
