SysSec is a European research project on Systems Security, a branch of the discipline of Computer Security. SysSec is a Network of Excellence (funded under the Seventh Framework Programme), a form of project which aims to put together the resources of leading research institutions in the EU space. The specific objectives are: # creating a virtual center of excellence on Systems Security within the research community in Europe # promoting cybersecurity education, in particular through the creation of a joint curriculum and student exchange frameworks # creating a think-tank to analyze the emerging threats and vulnerabilities # creating an active research roadmap in the area, and # developing a joint working plan to conduct collaborative research. The project partners are FORTH-ICS, Politecnico di Milano, Vrije Universiteit, Institut Eurécom, IPP-BAS, Vienna University of Technology, Chalmers University of Technology and the Turkish National Research Institute of Electronics and Cryptology.
