Swings-N-Things is a family entertainment center located in Olmsted, Ohio, located outside of Cleveland. When opened in 1982, Swings-N-Things was Swings-N-Things is best known for their batting cages and go-kart track. History Swings-N-Things opened in 1982 as one of the first batting cages in the midwest, which was called Strike Zone at the time. These cages featured a ball drying system to allow the cages to be operated in rain, which was an industry first. When the go-kart track was installed several years later, they also featured a first in the industry; unique tires allowing the go-karts to run in rain. Both systems are still in operation today and are used in many facilities throughout the country. During the design process of the go-kart track, Swings-N-Things worked with designers and lawmakers to develop a new containment system to keep the karts on the track. In 2003, Swings-N-Things added Paintball Village, a half-million dollar paintball facility that remains one of the largest on the eastern side of the country. Paintball Village is especially popular for groups and team building exercises. Currently, Swings-N-Things is represented on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) by Tim Sorge, owner of Swings-N-Things. Swings-N-Things is the only independently owned family entertainment center with a member on the board.
