Swami Sukhabodhananda is a guru active in the Bangalore area and abroad, whose talks combine Vedic tradition with Western management and psychological development perspectives. His books have appeared in many Indian languages, and recordings of his mantra singing and talks have appeared on the Sa Re Ga Ma label. Biography Swami Sukhabodhananda is the second of the three sons of Late Sri C.M.S. Murthy and Rukmani Murthy. His parents gave birth to him on 25.04.1955 and named him Dwaraknath. His siblings are Preetham (married to Shanta and proud parents of Shruti) and Prathap (aka Kalyan Mitra). He was born and brought up in Bangalore. He studied in Baldwin's Boys High School and St. Joseph's College. He was a basketball player during his school days. At the age of 20, he got attracted to spirituality and became a student of Swami Chinmayananda and Dayanada Saraswati at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya of Mumbai . His name during Sandeepany days was Brahmachari Nithya Chaitanya. Brahmachari Nithya Chaitanya embrased Sanyas on Shivarathri day in 1984 from when on he is known as Swami Sukhabodhananda. In November 1982, he established the Prasanna Trust, a registered public charitable (non-profit) organisation, to fulfil his vision. He saw how knowledge alone is not enough for one to be an enlightened person and he was determined that every one who comes in touch with him should be set on the path of transformation. He saw Bhagawad Gita not as a text for Hindus but as a divine song for the whole of humanity. Prasanna Trust enjoys benefits under section 80(G) of the Indian Income Tax Act and also is an organisation registered with Ministry of Home Affairs of Government of India for receiving contributions in foreign currency. Thus, in 1986, after conducting classes on Bhagavad Gita and other texts for few years, he launched in Bangalore his first workshop, called LIFE - Living in Freedom and Enquiry". Swami Sukhabodhananda, on 2010.08.12 inaugurated the distance mode course for opticians launched by Sankara Nethralaya of Chennai jointly with the Association of British Dispensing Opticians College (ABDO), United Kingdom. Swami Sukhabodhananda is listed in Jnana Jyoti as one of the inspiring Spiritual Saints. Swami Sukhabodhananda has also been featured in Life Positive a magazine devoted to wholistic living.
