Susanna Ng

Susanna Ng is a Chinese music executive best known for being the regional managing director for EMI Music Publishing Asia Pacific, the first international publisher to open an office on mainland China. After 2012, Ng held the same position at Sony/ATV Music Publishing.
Career
Before being appointed regional managing director for EMI Music Publishing Asia Pacific in 1995, Ng was director of the international music publishing firm Golden Pony. Ng dedicated efforts towards the collection of royalties affected by piracy and other infringements related to MP3 and ringtone downloads.
EMI Music Publishing was acquired by Sony/ATV Music Publishing in 2012. After the acquisition, Ng stayed in her position and joined the Sony/ATV international leadership team. The rest of the team was previously with Sony/ATV. Ng lead EMI on its joint effort with BMG and Warner/Chappel to introduce foreign publishers in the Asian market and export Asian music overseas. According to Ng, if publishers can "change the old attitudes", they "can be a part of the industry's future". Ng also positioned Japanese compositions in the Chinese market.
Ng has participated as a panelist on events including the Tokyo International Music Market in October 2013 and AMC panels. She covers topics related to music publishing, including collection fees, societies, geopolitics and the Global Repertoire Database.
