David Scowsill is a business executive in the travel and tourism industry, currently serving as the President and CEO of the World Travel & Tourism Council. Senior Vice President of Marketing and IT at Hilton International, Sales and Marketing Director at EasyJet, Managing Director at American Airlines, and Regional General Manager at British Airways. Scowsill's began his career with British Airways in 1978, working in different operational and sales roles with the company. He left British Airways in 1991 to join American Airlines as managing director of sales for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He returned to British Airways 2 years later as regional general manager of Asia & Pacific. After his return, he established the joint service agreement with Qantas Airways, a venture that lasted 17 years. He was with the company until 1997 when he joined Hilton International. He was with them for 2 years, leaving shortly after it was purchased by Amadeus IT Group in 2004.
