Surrey Morphology Group (SMG) Surrey Morphology Group (SMG) is a Linguistics research centre based at the University of Surrey (Guildford). SGM is dedicated to the study of language diversity and its theoretical consequences, especially in the field of Morphology (word structure). The approaches to linguistic research devised by members of Surrey Morphology Group include Network Morphology and Canonical Typology The current head of the Surrey Morphology Group is Professor Greville C. Corbett.
