Sunilkumar P K

Sunilkumar P K is an Indian musician and percussionist born in Thrissur on 29 May 1981 to PC Kandankutty and CV Ammini. He has marked his presence in music as tabla player, composer and producer. He has composed and played both for film and theatre.
Life and education

Although Sunil got enrolled as a medical student in Alappuzha Medical College, he later discontinued it to pursue music first as a passion. He studied at Kerala Varma College for B.Com. He had his primary lessons in tabla and acting from Jawahar Balabavan, Thrissur. Sunil learned Tabla from the Late Unniraja Master, Ustad Philip V. Francis (disciple of Ustad . He has performed across the world, like United States, UK, Switzerland, Japan, South Korea, Russia, African Union countries, Arab states of the Persian Gulf countries, and Sri Lanka. He played percussion for singers such as K. J. Yesudas, , Shankar Mahadevan, S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, S. Janaki, and P. Susheela.
As a percussionist
Sunil has played for film composers such as Jhonson Master, Usha Khanna, Raveendran Master, Mohan Sithara, Ouseppachan, M. Jayachandran, Gopi Sundar, Berny Ignatius, and Bijibal. He also sung for many projects.
As a music director
He composed and played for Njan Ninnodu Koodeyundu, , , KA bodyscapes, and Vari. He composed songs and did the Back Ground score for these films.
Awards
Sunil received Balasree award from the president of India in 1995. He has performed at various youth festival platforms and he became kalaprathiba, best actor. He also won yuvaprathiba puraskaram from Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi. Sunil Kumar P.K. won the award for the best music director.<ref name=":0" />
