Subramnia Raju (June06-1948-December10-1987) is the pen name of Viswanthan. He has published a novella called "Indru Nijam" and few more short stories in magazines. Posthmously got published "Subramania Raju Kadhaigal (2006)" (publisher: Kizhaku pathipagam). He is a close friend of writer Balakumaran, to whom at certain level he laid foundation for his prolific writing career.Balakumaran novel "Irumbu Kudhiraigal" protaganist Viswanatahan is written inpired from him. Writer Sujataha once told that his list all time best short stories had one of his story. Actor Kamal haasan portrayed character Subramania Raju in the film Michael Madana Kama Rajan(1990), a fire police man as a tribute to him.He is also a close friend of Devakotai Murthy, who praises him for his pleasing, simplistic, widomful personality in his foreword in the book "Subramania Raju Kadhaigal (2006)" (publisher :Kizhaku pathipagam). He had 2 daughters. He died in a Chennai road accident aged only 39.
