Subhro Bandyopadhyay

Subhro Bandyopadhyay (nee Subhransu Banerjee; born 1978) is a Bengali poet, writer and Spanish translator. He was born in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

He is one of the founder editors of Bengali poetry magazine Podyocharcha, founded in 1999. His poems had been translated to Spanish and English.

In 2006 he was shortlisted for the Sanskriti awards for literature.

In 2007, Subhro was awarded the Ruy De Clavijo fellowship by the Casa Asia, Spain, for his work on translating the work of the Spanish writer María Fernanda Santiago Bolaños El jardín de las favoritas olvidadas into Bengali..

In 2008 Subhro is awarded with Beca Internacional Antonio Machado by Fundación Antonio Machado and Govt. of Spain for creative writing.
