Subhash Khanna is an Indian Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeon, Professor, and Author. He serves as the National President of the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons. Khanna is the recipient of the Dr. B.C. Roy Award by The Medical Council of India. He is also the author of Guidelines of Minimal Invasive Surgery, a book endorsed by the Ministry of Health, Government of India, and the Medical Council of India. Career Khanna is Credited with introducing laparoscopic surgery in North East India in 1992 and has also been a national trainer in Ethicon Endosurgery Institute and Animal Lab at Mumbai since 1995. He is a former professor of surgery at Gauhati Medical College and Agartala Medical College and also an incumbent honorary Visiting Professor at the GSL Medical College, Rajahmundry. He adopted robotic surgery In 2019. Khanna created Swagat Super Specialty Surgical Institute in 2015, Northeast India's first state-of-the-art super-specialty surgical institute. He is the first Executive Member of the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons, as well as its past President and current Trustee (2018-2019). IAGES is preparing for the First World Congress of Endoscopic Surgery, which will be held in Kolkata in 2024 and co-hosted by eight adjacent nations, under his direction. Khanna founded Swagat Academy of Medical Sciences in collaboration with the state medical university, which offers formal fellowship and diploma programs in MAS. Throughout his career, Khanna has published over 160 publications and scientific presentations as well as chapters in books and periodicals. Khanna joined the Association of Surgeons of India as a young surgeon in 1987 . He has made a contribution to the ASI Assam's expansion from a small group of founding members to its current membership of over 400. Khanna has been appointed to two committees of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons for the years 2021-2023. Khanna has served on the IAGES National COVID Task Force and as an advisor to the Government of Assam's COVID-19 Arogya Nidhi initiative. Khanna has the distinction of conducting countless CMEs and live surgical workshops in various regions of the country and abroad, in addition to delivering several CME lectures.
