Sturgeon Aquafarms is an American aquaculture company founded in 2001. The facility exists to breed domestic stocks of Caspian sturgeon species and assist in repopulation efforts of critically endangered sturgeon species through the transfer of resources, technology and captive breeding techniques. History * 2003 - Flights begin from Europe with the transfer of live Beluga, Sevruga and Russian Osetra sturgeon broodstock. * 2009 - A 120-acre facility in Bascom, Florida is purchased and construction begins. * 2011 - The first efforts to reproduce Beluga and Sevruga sturgeon begin. * 2013 - Beluga stock is noted as the largest inventory in captive aquaculture and surpasses worldwide wild estimates.
