Strikesorb is a complex Surge Protective Device (SPD) that is beening used by the Rayvoss TVSS system . It uses a monolithic designed Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) in order to filter the voltage spikes and to sustrain continuous overvoltage strikes, countrary to most of the SPD's that uses parrallel arrays of varistors (MOV's) or silicon avalanche diodes (SAD's). Strikesorb modules can sustain overvoltage effects up to 200kA. They are producted in to two sizes of 80mm and 40mm featuring different characteristics both in operating voltage electrical characteristic and surge protection levels. Tests were performed according to international standards including: IEEE-C62.41 , IEC-61643-1 ., UL-1449 3rd edition, NEMA-LS1. Strikesorbs can be applied directly to the electrical network and be used as a fuse, circuit breaker. Moreover it can be installed directly onto the device we want to protect like windmill generetors or solar panels. REFERENCE
