Storm P. machines

Storm P. machines are complicated machines, usually sketched in a cartoon, characterized by achieving little or nothing in very complicated and unlikely, usually humorous ways. In this, they are very similar to Rube Goldberg machines and take the name from their inventor, the Danish cartoonist Robert Storm Petersen.

Storm P. and Rube Goldberg seem to have developed similar concepts independently of each other.
