Steven Q. Wang

Steven Q. Wang, MD (Born June 16, 1974) is a physician, researcher and author. He serves as the Director of Dermatologic Surgery and Dermatology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, and he is an assistant professor in the Department of Dermatology at Weill Medical College of Cornell University . He specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of skin cancer, especially melanoma. To manage high-risk skin cancer patients, he uses whole-body photography, dermoscopy, and computerized digital imaging systems. To treat skin cancer, he uses a range of different treatment modalities, such as photodynamic therapy and Mohs surgery.
In addition to caring for his patients, Wang is actively involved in clinical research, with a focus on photoprotection, non-invasive imaging technologies to diagnose skin cancer, and minimally invasive methods to treat skin cancer. He has authored more than 40 publications in peer reviewed medical journals and academic textbooks. In addition, he has lectured extensively in the United States and around the world on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers. He is a member of the Skin Cancer Foundation’s Photobiology Committee and is the medical editor for the Sun and Skin News for the Skin Cancer Foundation.
Aside from his clinical and research activity, he is also the founder and ex-president of the China AIDS Orphan Fund (CAOF), a non-profit organization working to improve the lives of children orphaned by HIV/AIDS in central China, especially in Henan province.
Education
He received his bachelor's degree from Cornell University and medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his dermatology residency at the University of Minnesota. In addition, he completed a Melanoma Fellowship from the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at New York University School of Medicine and a Mohs surgery fellowship in Houston, Texas.
