Steven McCarl is an associate professor of political science. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Denver in 1960 and a Ph.D. from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1969. He has taught at the University of Denver since 1967.
Dr. McCarl is a political theorist, and is best known for his 1992 article, "Eric Voegelin's Theory of Consciousness," published in the American Political Science Review. He has written and taught extensively on religion, morality, and modern liberal thought.
