Major Steven James Hall, CGSC was Born 14 July 1965, Sydney Australia and was an Australian Army Officer during the 1980's and early 1990's. He was comissioned from the Royal Military College Duntroon as a Lieutenant in 1987 and obtained his Army Pilot Wings in 1989, after qualifying as a helicopter pilot at 5 Sqn Royal Australian Air Force, Fairbairn ACT. In 1990 he was awarded the Chief of the General Staff Commendation for bravery during a helicopter rescue in the Bluewater area near Townsville QLD Australia. In 1991, he was promoted to Captain and Qualified as a Flying Instructor at the Royal Australian Air Force Central Flying School. He was promoted to Major in 1996 and in pursuit of his flying career he transfered to the Royal Australian Air Force and took up the post of Flight Instructor at the 2nd Flight Training School in Pearce WA. A brief stint as a Forward Air Controller at 77 Sqn saw him back at 2FTS as deputy Flight Commander of C Flight. He departed Military service in 1999 and took a contract with BAE Systems in Saudi Arabia as a Flying Instructor to the Royal Saudi Air Force. He departed Suadia Arabia in 2003 and in 2008 he took up the role of Boeing 777 Flight Crew Technical Instructor at Emirate Airlines. In 2009 he was promoted to Lead Instructor - Pilot Training Systems.
