Steve Skelton

Steve Skelton (born August 6, 1989) is a former American football tight end. He played college football at Fordham and was signed by the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent in 2011.
Skelton was also a member of the Houston Texans.
College career
Skelton attended Fordham University, where he played football for the Fordham Rams. In his freshman year he played at Tight End and Special Teams. In his sophomore year he caught 22 passes for 236 yards (10.7 yards per reception) and his first touchdown. In his junior year he finished his season with 63 receptions for 634 yards (10.1 yards per reception) with 6 touchdown catches from his brother John Skelton. In his senior year he had 42 receptions for 443 yards (10.5 yards per reception), reaching the end zone 3 times. Over the course of his collegiate career, Skelton recorded 127 receptions for 1,313 yards and ten touchdowns, all career-highs for a Fordham tight end. He is seventh on the school’s all-time receptions list and tied for eighth in career touchdown receptions. Fordham University senior tight end Stephen Skelton was selected to play in the Texas vs. The Nation All-Star Game in the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Skelton played for Texas, his native state, for head coach Bill Bates, a former Dallas Cowboy. Only two players from the Patriot League played in the game.
Professional career
Arizona Cardinals
On July 27, 2011, the Arizona Cardinals signed Skelton. He was waived on September 2, then re-signed on November 16, 2011. He was cut again on August 31, 2012 and re-signed by the team September 2, 2012. He was cut a final time on December 17, 2012.
Houston Texans
He was signed by the Houston Texans on December 26, 2012. He finished 2014 with the Texans and became a free agent after the season.
Personal life
Skelton currently lives in Houston, Texas. His brother John, a quarterback, was also a member of the Arizona Cardinals.
In 2013, the Wall Street Journal featured John and Steve Skelton in an article about John's road to the NFL and Steve's chances on joining him there.
