Steve Obsitnik is a Republican businessman running for Connecticut's 4th District seat in the United States House of Representatives. Obsitnik lives in Westport, CT with his wife, Suzanne, and their two children. Early life and education Obsitnik is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, having been nominated by the Honorable Stewart McKinney (R, CT). Prior to Annapolis, Obsitnik graduated from Stamford High School in 1985. After completing his naval duty, Obsitnik attended the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating with a Masters in Business Administration with a degree in finance. Military career Upon receiving a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with honors, Obsitnik had a five year career in the U.S. Navy primarily serving as a Lieutenant on board the U.S.S. Ray (SSN653), a Sturgeon class nuclear attack submarine. He was awarded eight medals during deployments to the Arctic Circle, Atlantic and Mediterranean. Obsitnik also served in the Pentagon with the Bureau of Naval Personnel and Submarine Squadron Six in Charleston, SC. Professional career Obsitnik has been the CEO of Quintel, a provider of wireless infrastructure to mobile operators with operations in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Obsitnik served on the U.S. Small Business Administration National Advisory Board, and is an adjunct professor of entrepreneurship at the Jack Welch College of Business at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. 2012 Congressional election On May 18, 2012, at the Connecticut State Republican Convention, delegates from the fourth district endorsed Obsitnik.
