Steve Nicholls is a social media expert and author who specializes in corporate social media consulting and training for companies looking to expand their presence in social media. Professional career Nicholls graduated with honors from Reading University where he earned a BSc in Building Construction. From there, he went on to earn his MSc in Organizational Development and NLP from the University of Portsmouth Business School. He also earned an MBA from the Henley Business School. Nicholls began in construction as a project manager for skyscraper projects where he gained expertise in communications and technology. Since the early 1990’s, he has developed Internet applications for companies such as British Telecom, Ciena Corporation, Deltathree, Inmarsat, John Laing and the NSPCC (UK Children’s Charity). Nicholls currently works as a consultant for companies looking to gain knowledge of social media and how to apply it to their business. Books and lectures Nicholls is the author of “Social Media in Business - Succeeding in the New Internet Revolution” which was published in 2011. The book is designed for managers, business owners and policy-makers to understand the main opportunities social media provides to business. The book is accompanied by a detailed guide of social media applications and their usefulness to business. Nicholls also launched a website based on the book where he offers social media advice. Outside of his consulting business, Nicholls is a sought-after speaker and has given numerous lectures to organizations such as the Daily Business Buzz.
