Stephen (Steve) K. Cornwell Jr. (born December 13, 1972) is the 25th District Attorney of Broome County. Cornwell began his legal career in 2005 when he opened a solo law practice concentrating on both criminal and civil litigation. He previously served the office as an Assistant District Attorney from 2007-2009. He returned to private practice from 2009-2015 where he operated his own private practice. Cornwell is a graduate of Syracuse University School of Law (2004) and School of Management (2001). He also attended SUNY Broome (1997-1999). Cornwell was elected Broome County District Attorney on November 3, 2015, when he defeated 28-year incumbent Gerald Mollen. |
