Stellar Crisis

Stellar Crisis is a free, browser-based war game, which made its appearance approximately February 1993, making it the first known multi-player strategy game on the web. History Created originally by Sylvan W. Clebsch, Stellar Crisis has since been modified by many other programmers. PC Gamer reviewed the game in their March 1996 issue saying, "Stellar Crisis is a remarkable galactic conquest game playable over the Web." It currently has three operating servers, each of which hosts a slightly different version of the game. Currently a project is forming that will attempt to merge all existing versions and their different and unique features into Stellar Crisis v4.0 and make that version available as open source. Gameplay Stellar Crisis is a turn based strategy game played on a two dimensional grid. Game play involves exploring new planets, colonizing, researching technologies, and combat. |
