History
St. Charles High School was established in the year 1944 by the Congegration of the Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo. Though it has been open to all communities irrespective of caste or creed, the school was primarily established to cater to the Catholic Community.
The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo was founded on September 27, 1684 by Father Adrien Bresy, Parish priest of Wez-Velvain, (in the diocese of Tournai, Belgium). Poverty, famine, illiteracy and sickness of all kinds was the aftermath of the French Revolution in the 17th century. Father Adrien Bresy wanted to impart the best education to the poor children of his parish.
Since the death of St. Charles Borromeo coincided with the foundation of the Congregation, Father Adrien Bresy proposed him as the Patron of the newly founded Congegration. Wishing the Sisters to live upto his ideals, he passed away on the first day of June, in 1699.
St. Charles High School is managed by the Allard Education Society, Bangalore, registered under the Mysore Societies Registration Act No. 17 of 1960.
