Square Magazine

Square Magazine is a free on-line photography magazine, specializing in square-format photography. Created in February 2010 by Christophe Dillinger with Yves Bigot, Carine Lautier and Clara Forest, Square Magazine is published in four languages (English, French, Spanish and German) and has an estimated 15,000 views per quarterly issue. Celebrated artists such as Roger Ballen, Dennis Rouvre, Larry Fink, Alex and Felix, Kimiko Yoshida, Polixeni Papapetrou and many others have all featured in its pages. Square Magazine is also the only magazine to offer a free artist residency program for artists who would like to try out the square format; lasting between 3 to 6 months providing on-going assessment and feedback, and a slot in the magazine at the end of the residency. As well as publishing a quarterly magazine, Square Magazine also host exhibitions, the most recent of which in 2014 were held in both England and France, featuring the work of many distinguished photographers from across the world. Square Magazine is a not-for-profit magazine based in the West Midlands, with a small but dedicated team working on a voluntary basis.
