Spireon

Spireon, Inc. is an American based company, which is headquartered in Irvine, California. The company specialises in Mobile Resource Management (also known as MRM). It has been responsible for developing various GPS systems for numerous devices currently on the commercial market.
This has included the likes of RadioShack's roadside companion.
Overview
Spireon was created after the merger between 3 mobile resource management providers. The three companies were ProconGPS, Enfotrace GPS, Inc. and Procon Fleet Services. Following the merger, the company was rebranded Spireon Inc. It provides various mobile resource management solutions, through SaaS (Software as a service) based tools. Spireon currently has over 1.7 million active devices in the marketplace.
History
In 2002, Brian Boling created the brand ProconGPS. The brand was launched in Knoxville, Tennessee. A year after the company's foundation, they announced a partnership with ADT and Tyco to develop a GPS based security and safety device.
In 2004, the company was responsible for developing the RadioShack roadside companion. The device was created to provide 24-hour monitoring, which was constantly connected to a monitoring center, where members of staff would pinpoint the location and alert police, fire or ambulance, or dispatch roadside assistance to the exact location. This was achieved by pressing. The RadioShack device utilized the GPS technology, which was developed by Boling.
In 2011 the announced the acquisition of the patents governing the repossession of automobiles in the Vehicle Finance Industry from CalAmp Corp. During the same year, the company announced that they had filed a suit against Skypatrol, Star Sensor and others for patent infringement.
The company became Spireon after the merger of ProconGPS, Inc. with Enfotrace GPS, Inc. and Procon Fleet Services, LLC. At the time the three were regarded as the three largest providers in the MRM market. The name change took place in 2012. The brand name is derived from the words “spire” and “inspire".
In early 2013, the company announced that they had achieved record sales in Q1 of that year. During the same year, the company announced Marc Brungger as their new CEO.
In January 2014, Spireon won the Best in Class Platform A List Award for their Automotive Collateral Management platform at CES 2014.
