Forrester Research has named Spigit as the Largest Vendor of innovation management solutions with the largest revenue base in their report The Forrester Wave: Innovation Management Solutions, Q2 2016.
Spigit is a cloud-based software application that is highly configurable and allows large organizations to simultaneously run multiple crowdsourced innovation challenges for idea-generation that can be run globally allowing thousands of people to participate.
More than 5 million users around the world have participated in Spigit-powered innovation programs, and companies have filed over 200 patents and realized over $1 billion in revenue through their enterprise innovation programs.
Leading industry system integrators such as IBM, PwC, Capgemini, Deloitte, Booz Allen Hamilton, Accenture, and CGI have partnership agreements with Spigit.
History
Spigit was founded by Paul Pluschkell in 2007. The company received $10 million in Series B funding from Warburg Pincus in October 2009, and a second round of investment from them in March 2011. In 2013, Spigit raised $10 million in new equity from Pico Holdings Inc. In 2015, Spigit raised $13 million in new financing led by its largest current investor, Investor Growth Capital.
In September 2013, Spigit was acquired by Mindjet, maker of industry leading mind mapping software MindManager. Mindjet became the parent company of both Spigit and MindManager. Mindjet CEO Scott Raskin took over as the CEO of Spigit.
On August 9, 2016, Mindjet sold its name and MindManager to Corel Corporation. Mindjet Corporation will be renamed Spigit Corporation. CEO Scott Raskin continues in his role as the President & CEO of Spigit and as a member of the Board of Directors of Spigit.
Products
The company provided a number of products, such as Icon, a free crowdsourcing tool, and SpigitEngage used for crowdsourcing ideation, enterprise innovation, collaboration, game mechanics and analytics gamification.
