Special Application Sniper Rifle

An SASR (Special Application Sniper Rifle) or (Special Application Scoped Rifle) is usually a semi-automatic or fully automatic sniper rifle used in a specialty or strategic role. The rifle itself or the ammunition may classify a rifle as special application. While it's true that any sniper/scoped rifle could be considered special application, the term is usually reserved for rifle systems that are built for acquiring targets that are not simply out in the open or at modest range. Examples of these include rifles built for very high power cartridges, Armor-piercing shot and shell, Anti-materiel rifles, or many other variants of the average scoped rifle.
A few examples of SASR rifles are:
* Barrett M82
* Dragnouv SVD and SVU-A
* M110
* Unique Alpine TPG-1
