Speakaboos is a children's website which features digital versions of classic children's stories, licensed properties and original content. Viewed for free on the website or downloaded for a fee, these videos feature original illustrations, story text, and narration. History and Development The company’s first project was 2004’s Arthur Celebrity Audiobook, which featured Kevin Bacon and Kelly Ripa reading stories from the Arthur book series by Marc Brown. The audiobook was a success, receiving a “Teacher’s Choice” award from Scholastic. Website The Speakaboos.com web portal was launched in beta in the summer of 2008. Speakaboos widened the scope of its products for its Web site. The site offers story videos, interactive games, and educational activities. The site offers classic children's stories, original Speakaboos stories, and licensed content. |
