South Shields FC International Tournament

The South Shields International Tournament is an association football invitational tournament held by South Shields F.C. in England. It is held every pre-season in the summer, following the first edition in 2018. The current champions are Southampton F.C. History The first tournament featured four teams. These were South Shields, Southampton, Celtic and Marseille, the latter three all sending under-23 teams. Southampton beat hosts South Shields 3-0 to put them in the final. Marseille went on to the final as their match vs Celtic was abandoned after 69 minutes where they were leading 1-0 due to a thunderstorm. Since they were winning, they were able to advance. Southampton beat Marseille in the final 2-0. |
