South Jersey Paranormal Research or SJPR is a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status that is devoted to the study of the paranormal. SJPR was founded in November 2001. According to their website, SJPR has conducted investigations at places of business, private homes, historical sites, and cemeteries in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. The group maintains approximately 30 members of SJPR, comprised of "health care professionals, secretaries, homemakers, education administrators, realtors, college professors, graphic artists, computer experts, journalists and law enforcement officials." The group is led by a Board of Directors consisting of Susan Bove', Sherri Halpin, Rorie Hirschmann, Karen Spring, and Debra Thornton. A 2005 visit to the Burlington County Prison was covered by Philadelphia NBC affiliate WCAU.
