The Wisdom Page

The Wisdom Page, "a site devoted to wisdom resources," is a website that provides its many visitors with a wide range of information about wisdom. The site was started in 1995, and over time has expanded greatly in content and popularity. In recent years it has been favored by search engines, and this has made it easy for wisdom-interested people to discover and access it. Additional indicators of the site's significance are the many links to it from other sites, the fact that each month it is visited by people from more than 120 countries, and the respect it has received from the academic community. Scholars in the fields of wisdom research, wisdom education,
and future studies have been referring to The Wisdom Page and citing its content. The website is the repository of resources from many contributors, and it provides information on a wide range of wisdom-related topics in text, audio, and video formats.
Features
At the time of its founding in 1995, The Wisdom Page was concerned primarily with the nature and development of wisdom. Since then its focus has broadened to encompass a variety of wisdom-related interests. As of mid-2009, the website's major sections and their subsections were:

History

The Wisdom Page was started in 1995 by writer and independent scholar Copthorne Macdonald. He had written two books on aspects of wisdom and sensed the potential of the Internet for making wisdom-related resources available worldwide. The Wisdom Page began as a single page on his personal website: www.cop.com. It grew in content and popularity over the years, and since July 2007 has had its own domain and Internet address: www.wisdompage.com. A Wisdom Page Advisory Board was formed in 2008, and now helps guide the website's further development. Macdonald continues as the site's Editor and Webmaster.
