Soulforge

Soulforge Is an Australian Heavy metal band formed in Broken Hill, New South Wales Australia In late 2006 By Tomo Jovanovic. In which, Soulforge's first studio album 'Fields of Decay' was released in the month of July, 2011 Recorded and Mixed by Andy Kite from Against The Grain Studio in Adelaide, Australia, And was then mastered in Sweden by Jens Bogren of Fascination Street Studio, the same international studio that has produced Soilwork, Paradise Lost, Amon Amarth and Universum. The band enlisted the services of Felipe Machado Franco to create the album cover in wrap around, widescreen view (when opened). Graphic design services including CD Sleeve layout, Soulforge Logo and Dragon design were completed by Local Talk Magazines Miles "Jesus" Clothier (The first Dragon design was done by former original Soulforge band member Kerrin Fazulla (Guitar).
History of Soulforge
soulforge was originally founded by Tomo Jovanovic and Kerrin Fazulla, talented musicians (Guitarists) from Broken Hill, a Country town in Regional Outback NSW Australia, who wanted to start a band for their passion of music and the genre of Heavy Metal. together they recruited, friends of theres, Dale Corney who was a former vocalist and backing guitarist for a rising international band Dungeon, which later transitionally moved to the name LORD. for drums they enlisted local Ashley Meadows and for a bass guitar they enlisted the skills of Aaron Dewsbery of former local band and Internationally renown band Fury, also known as The Harrowed in the U.S and Europe respectively, who was currently at the time, working on a joined ABC BBC UK TV series Supernova working alongside, British Actor Rob Brydon, In the episode called, When Men are Men.
Starting off playing in pubs and clubs around the city, their first concert was played in the Patton Street Park, Broken Hill NSW.
Gathering many followers and local support, resulted in them being enlisted in the Battle of the Bands 06, which took them to Orange, NSW, which spread their name further around the state, and gained more followers, they also played in the following year's battle of the bands, in which they won. they played up against local band then Makeshift Plague (Now Second to Fire) and Far West Battlefront, which is a local band that is now located in Adelaide, SA.
2007-2009
During the minor years of soulforge, prior to the Battle of the Bands in 2007, Kerrin Fazulla left the band for personal reasons, and was replaced by a special talent and highly regarded by Dewsbery, James 'Jimmy' Barlow, who showed a surprising gift with the Guitar, and at a very young age of 14 he was enlisted and combined with Tomo, the dual assault of guitars that is famous of soulforge to this day, was born.
Soulforge was reborn again, they entertained many crowds over a period of time, the largest being over 4000, at touring international motocross show "Mega Madness" (HornPromotion).the music was slowly changing with new songs, and better lyrics a full set which was written by the young James Barlow, and due to massive requests a demo cd was recorded and the foundations of the debut album Fields of Decay was born. after which the exit of Ashley Meadows, Soulforge was then joined by Jarrad Lee, who for a short time filled in for the role of Drummer, finding a drummer was beginning to be a difficult issue for the band, soulforge enlisted the temporary help of Tim Hinton, an elite drummer from the "Death Metal" band FURY (The Harrowed) which took them to a new height and level in drum-work, until a new drummer could be found, and in late 2010 Bilyara Bates former local joined the ranks and has remained so to this day as Soulforge's drummer, and recorded with them on the Major final project album "Fields of Decay", Although due to Bilyara living in Adelaide, when minor gigs are held in their hometown, Jimmy Barlow's younger brother Billy Barlow will often take the role for drums, or in most cases Tim Hinton has been known to reprise the role on occasions, but Otherwise Bilyara is the soul drummer of Soulforge.
2011 (Present Day)- Future Prospects
Soulforge released their first debut album "Fields of Decay" officially on the 21st of July 2011, after many years of hard work and passion put into the album, Soulforge are currently in discussion on a state-wide tour for 2012, an Australian Wide Tour has not yet been fully discussed but due to rising popularity of the album and the band, an Australian Wide Tour might happen sometime in the near future, with prospects of touring Europe and the United States is a futuristic yet realistic aim for the band.

Theme and Style
Soulforge despite being influenced by heavy metal genre, and inspired by bands such as, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, ACDC, Arch Enemy, Black Sabbath and Blind Guardian, critics and most fans alike, suggest they are power-metal, along the lines of bands such as most popular referenced to band "Ed Guy", the band members of Soulforge, do not believe in the "Genre" label but their style and theme are simply just Heavy Metal, the songs are inspired by Post-Apocalyptic events, Historic events and most notably Fantasy as Metal essentially is.
The songs Live Forever (300) is based upon an immortal warrior in this case a Spartan from Greek Mythology of Sparta, Every song from the album has a unique story, that makes you feel the emotion of the story they are telling.

Fields of Decay 2011
Fields of Decay, was mostly written by James Barlow the youngest member of Soulforge, and was subsequently released in month of July 2011. The album was recorded in Adelaide South Australia, by Andy Kite from Against the Grain Studios, and was mastered in Sweden by Jens Bogren, who records most notable bands such as In Flames, Amon Amarth, Universum, Soilwork and Paradise Lost, the result albums track-list is shown below:
