Sorrento Gangland Wars

Sorrento Gangland Wars
The Northern Suburbs of Perth especially the 6020,6023 area district has long been a battleground for the infamous 6020 Crips and 6023 Bikey Boyz. The area since the 1990s has descended into a cesspit of violence, shootings, drug dealing and prostitution rings. The estimated loss of life between these two districts is over 2000 people. The feud was thrust into the spotlight in 2002 after the drive-by killing. This truly thrust the gangland into the public spotlight. After three Royal Commmisions into the gangland wars the Police of Western Australian conceded that the only way to solve the crisis was to have constant police presence in the districts.
History
Before the 90s existed two strong street gangs in the 6020 postcode. The Seacrest Park Crew consisting of the over 100 members controlled the northern part of the postcode with their base presiding in the Seacrest Park. The lower part of the district postcode was controlled by the Anaconda Place Thugs. The gang had an approximate strength of 60 members. They respectively had control of the pool and billlards syndicates in their postcode. They came to loggerheads over the Pot Black incident of 1998.
