Sons of Beaches are an original rock band from Kidderminster, West Midlands, England. The original line up was a four piece covers band featuring: Carl Wilkes (Vocals), Joshua Terry (Guitar), and brothers Russell Milton (Bass), and Richard Milton (Drums). This line up performed covers by luminaries such as Bon Jovi, Velvet Revolver, Guns n Roses, and many other similar artists. Joshua Terry decided to part company with the band in August 2007 to begin his own project. Bass player Russell Milton followed him shortly after to form metal act Los Gravitas who later split up, Joshua now plays Bass for The Gypsy Pisteleros Rebuilding the band Remaining members, Richard Milton and Carl Wilkes decided to rebuild the band and begin writing their own compositions. Carl approached local guitarist Daniel Holloway and lifelong friend Adam Farley to play bass. The new line up quickly evolved and were soon opening for well known local acts Rule No1, and Aura who had played with bands such as Status Quo and Velvet Revolver. Aura also featured Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant's son 'Jessie Lee' on Drums. The first record The band recorded their first Ep in 2007 entitled 'Never Be The Same Again' and featured original material 'Who I Am', 'Let Go of Me' & title track 'Never be the same again'. The 3 track collection was met with a lukewarm reception, but the band continued to play live as often as possible. Recognition In May of 2008 Joe Parkes joined the band as a second guitarist and the band then began work on their second EP 'Plague'. This collection was to feature six tracks, 'Mine o' Mine', 'Can't Rain All The Time', 'A Plague on Both Your Houses', Sticks n Stones', 'Dont' Worry about Me', and 'I.O.U'. All of which were familiar to the following the band was beggining to build. In January 2009, the band successfully auditioned for a slot at the 2009 in Leicestershire and in February of 2009 the band launched the Plague EP at The Boars Head Tap House venue in Kidderminster. The following night the band received the news that Joe Parkes had quit the band citing personal reasons. Unpeturbed the band continued to tour as a four piece whilst auditions for a replacement continued. The plague EP went from strength to strength and the band secured a gig at Liverpool's world famous Cavern Club, the venue were The Beatles began their illustrious career. In March 2009, Mark Hughes joined the band as rhythm guitarist and made his debut at the Hope and Anchor in Stourport on Severn that same month. On Saturday April 13th 2009, Sons of Beaches performed in front of a sell out audience at The Cavern Club in Liverpool, and following that in May they played to around 2000 people at the Glastonbudget Festival as the new acts stage headline act. The Plague EP had definately earned the band recognition from both venues and critics, receiving a fantastic review from the ultimate reviewer fanzine. The ballad Sticks n Stones has been heavily played on BBC Radio and has also recently been picked up by other stations. On June 25th 2009, Vocalist Carl Wilkes received a call from indepedent record label 'Limbo Sounds', and discussions to record the band began. The bands highly anticipated debut album is now in production and is expected to be released in the summer of 2010. Whilst recording goes on the band are continuing to tour and will also appear on BBC Hereford & Worcester on February 5th 2010 to play live and talk about the forthcoming album.
