It is advertised as "super soft, thick, luxurious fleece with roomy, oversized sleeves that let you do what you want while still being totally wrapped in warmth." However, some people compare it to a backwards bathrobe with no tie on the back. The television advertisements typically feature people struggling with keeping a blanket over themselves or showing their frustration with having to remove the blanket to perform basic tasks. Additionally, they are advertised as being suitable apparel for attending a football game. As of January 2009, over 4 million units have been sold. The presence of commercials and number of sales has led to the product being mentioned by Ellen Degeneres, and Tonight Show host Jay Leno.<ref name="usatoday" /> |
