Snook known by his stage name Snook da Rokk Starr is an American rapper from Columbia, SC. Snook was given the name by his family when he was younger and it just stuck wih him. He is currently getting ready to go on tour and promoting new mixtapes and single "Grown Woman Lovin" Biography Early life Snook grew up in a Newark, New Jersey, but later relocted to Columbia, South Carolina to attend Benedict College. He received the name Snook from his friends and used to be called Snook da Hustla. Always being interested in music, after about two years Snook decided to pursue a music career full time. Snook managed by his friend, signed to Southern Dynasty Entertainment working with everyone from Crime Mob to Sean Paul of the Youngbloods who all made his debut album, "4.5.6. New Banker” in 2003. Later Snook entered a joint venture between is label and Lavish Entertainment.With legal debate about his name Snook then coined the phrase attached, "Snook da Rokk Starr". . Later, Snook teams with tour mate Lil Boosie, on the Hypnotized Tour. 2008 &2009: Snook & The Movement In 2008 & 2009 Snook's made major moves with hit "Models" ft. "Lil Boosie" peaking on the BDS Sound Scan as well as "Presidential Freak" ft. Lee Lee aka Bad Bad and Untouchable ft. T-Pain. Snook was even offered a recording deal rumored to be $400,000 During this year he also released several mixtapes, which landed him as an act on the national Hynotized Tour with acts like Plies , Rick Ross, Lil Boosie to name a few. Soon after, Snook released "From a Minor to a Major” Vol. 1 hosted by DJ B-lord and DJ Frosty (which went to win Best Host Mixtape at the South Carolina Music Awards), “From a Minor to a Major” Vol. 2 hosted by Bigga Rankins, and “Let’s Smoke” hosted by “Mr. Southern Smoke” himself DJ Smallz, which led him as another act for the national Southern Smoke Tour. With his inclining success many of his songs were placed on mixtapes all over the world. Snook was also being recognized winning major industry awards. He also won “Carolinas (NC/SC) Artist of the Year” in Houston, TX , “Grinder Artist of the Year” in Jacksonville, FL and “Indie Grind Artist of the Year” in Greenville,SC. 2010: Snook da Rokk Star and Commericial Front Having great success as an underground artist and making his debut with Lil Boosie on the commericial front, Snook da Rokk Starr started to make radio ready hits. He still however does frequent mixtapes, with his current one being "The Hustler's Choice (T.H.C.)" hosted by International UK DJ Ames. His current radio single is "Grown Woman Lovin". He also has become even more interactive with fans, by his myspace, facebook, youtube, and twitter pages. Snook da Rokk Starr even at one point hosted a blog talk radio show. As of September 2010 Snook da Rokk Starr has announced he has several mixtapes in the works and plans to be on tour very soon.
