SmartDebit is a Direct Debit bureau, based in Bagshot, Surrey in the United Kingdom.
History
SmartDebit is the trading name of Payment Solutions Limited, founded in 1998 by Terry Jones.
The core business of Payment Solutions Limited was focused around the management of bulk cheque and card processing. In 2008, the company introduced the Direct Debit management service and following successful business, in 2010 the company trademarked the name of SmartDebit to allow further growth and entry into new markets. SmartDebit work with a range of subscription businesses in a range of sectors including telecoms, utilities, insurance, charities, software, IT, health and education.
The company are Bacs affiliates, FCA regulated and hold ISO 27001:2013 accreditation for information security management.
Through a network of partnerships, SmartDebit extend their services to include SEPA Direct Debit and online card payments.
Training
SmartDebit is one of the only four Bacs accredited external providers of Direct Debit training. Training is mandatory for all businesses and organisations collecting payments through Direct Debit.
