Slow pony

In political terms, a "pony" is a euphemism for any un-needed extravagance given by the government. Typically, administrations which are known to be free with tax monies are mocked as giving away "free ponies" to their constituents in return for their votes or favor. To date, free pony presidents have accounted for virtually every administration in the last 200 years. The term "Slow pony" originated on the Twoplustwo.com forums as a meme started by Borodog. In this particular [http://archives1.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat0&Boardpolitics&Number9898445&Searchpage1&Main9898333&Words%2BYOUR+%2BPONY+%2BTOO+%2BSLOW+Borodog&topic&Searchtrue#Post9898445 thread], two people posted a picture of a pony in fast succession in response to another potential governmental give-away. The first to successfully post a pony picture mocked the second by stating that, "His pony was slow." Hence the phrase. See Also
