Slaveco.

Slaveco. was a Canadian alternative rock band active from 2002 to 2004. The group comprised three former members of OCEAN3 and Ken Chinn (Mr. Chi Pig), the lead singer of the skate punk band SNFU.
History
The band members met when SNFU and OCEAN3 shared a touring bill, and later a practice space, in 2000. OCEAN3 bassist Matt Warhurst briefly played in SNFU the following year before they entered a hiatus, coinciding with OCEAN3's breakup. Warhurst, along with former OCEAN3 bandmates guitarist Jay Black and drummer Shane Smith, next briefly played in Based on a True Story with SNFU guitarist Marc Belke. Based on a True Story broke up the following year when Belke relocated to Toronto, and Black, Warhurst, and Smith recruited Chinn to form Slaveco. Biographer Chris Walter later described their style as an eclectic and musically ambitious "mismash of rock, punk, and metal", and Chinn declared influence from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Slaveco. played locally in Vancouver and recorded a demo, which attracted local attention on 99.3 CFOX in Vancouver.
Late in 2003, Belke, Chinn, and Warhurst reformed SNFU. They completed In the Meantime and In Between Time, their seventh studio record, before adding Smith to the touring lineup. Slaveco. and SNFU both separately toured in 2004, but Slaveco. ultimately became inactive as SNFU's workload increased. After suffering from numerous health problems, Chinn died on July 16, 2020.
