SlashTHREE

Slashthree (sometimes abbreviated as S3) is an international non-profit art collective with about 90 artists from all over the world performing art in multitude disciplines including digital and traditional illustration, photography, motion graphic and music. The Slashthree Collective was founded in 2007 by Tariq Adawi. Slashthree has been featured on numerous media, ranging from magazines, newspapers, and blogs.
Concept and Internal Structures
The concept of Slashthree is to build a collective of artists from all over the world to contribute in exhibitions and online releases. Although Slashthree is invitation only, every artist can apply for the art collective. The basic fields of art Slashthree is performing contains photography, motion graphics, music and digital or traditional illustration.
Furthermore Slashthree is an international discussion board with both a private and public community. The main forums are open for everybody to participate and comment. To be a part of the collective, one must be accepted during an application progress decided by the staff and a vote by every single artist. Everyone can apply as an artists and after acceptation the artist can contribute to the collective work of Slashthree.
Every few month Slashthree releases an online exhibition with about 70 artwork based on a given theme. Since 2007 they released 16 online exhibitions, two books and a presentation at the OFFF festival 2011 in Barcelona.
Artists
Currently Slashthree consists of 90 artists performing different fields of design and art. Beside of these artists, there are site directors, moderators, gallery directors and senior artists. Since Slashthree is a virtual art collective and community, geographical barriers do not exist. The Members are from multiple countries from all over the world. Not every artists is a professional artists though; some of the members are professional web designers, designers, and art directors. All exhibitions are contributed by the members of Slashthree and although every artist helps and has a vote in the application process and during the quality check of every exhibitions. However the theme for every art pack is given by the staff of Slashthree, especially by the senior members.
Releases and Exhibitions
Slashthree's releases a wide range of different exhibitions. At the beginning Slashthree started with online exhibitions, called Art Packs. Over the last years they released over 15 Art Packs, two printed books and other charity projects.
Another book project by Slashthree, especially by Saad Moosajee and Diego L. Rodriguez, is called "New Era" and was sold at the OFFF festival in Barcelona. The book consists of 21 pieces of art from the Slashthree artists, likewise some selected favorites from the past four exhibitions.<ref name="offf"/>
OFFF festival 2011 in Barcelona
The OFFF festival is a post-digital culture festival taking place every year in Barcelona. The festival is a congress, meeting place and workshop for the most relevant artists of our time. Slashthree represented by Diego Rodriguez, Sorin Bechira & Saad Moosajee was participating at the OFFF festival 2011 presenting the book project "New Era". Afterwards the book was sold at the OFF festival and through Slashthree's official shop.<ref name="offf"/>
