Skillball is a team sport created in Thorpe St. Andrew by Original founders Zak 'CM' Collen, Stephen 'Frank' Aldous, Declan 'The Scoop' Murphy, Paul 'Casual' Sheehan and DJ 'Hang Around' Singh. It is played with a modified tennis ball with the aim being to get the skillball in a basketball net that is around a yard higher than an average net. If played competitively two teams play in two ends of a modified basketball court with pavement areas at the halfway line. The most goals within an hour wins the game.
If either a hat-trick, the 5th goal of a day or a spectacular team goal are scored, competitors should run to a previously assigned Skillball Tree. The original tree is located within the forest area at the boundary of Thorpe St. Andrew Recreational Park and provides a Mecca like symbol for fans of the sport worldwide.
