Simon Nwakacha

Simon Nwakacha was born on the 30th of December, 1953 to Nwakacha Okafor and Ann Nwakacha. He hails from Umueri village in Anambra East local government area of Anambra state, in Nigeria. He worked with NNPC for 35 years and retired from service in 2013.
Early life
Born in 1953, he is the first of six siblings to Nwakacha Okafor and Ann Nwakacha. His mother Ann passed away when he was 8 years old so he was raised by his father. His father passed away in 2011 at the age of 94.
Educational background
Simon attended primary school in Umueri. He obtained his first school leaving certificate at the age of 11 from St. Mark's Catholic school, Umueri. He attended Christ the King College (CKC) in Onitsha for his secondary school education from 1964 to 1970. In 1971, he went to the Federal college of Agriculture Umudike in Abia state. In 1973, he gained admission into the University of Ife and graduated in 1978.
Career
In 1978, he was posted to Kaduna for his National Youth Service Corps NYSC program and was deployed to Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC). He completed his NYSC program in 1979 and was employed by KRPC on a full time basis. He worked with KRPC for 35 years before retiring as the manager of Tin and Drum manufacturing department in 2013.
Family life
Simon Nwakacha has been married to Joy Nwabuewele Nwakacha since 1981. Together they have 7 children: Justin Nwakacha (1981), Chioma Ezema (1982), Dr Valentine Nwakacha (1984), John-Paul and Simon-Peter Nwakacha (1986, twins), Dr Judith Aniekwena (1990) and Chinenye Nwakacha (1999).
Professional life
The Council for Regulation of Engineers (COREN) registered Simon Nwakacha in 1988 as S I Nwakacha.
