Company Origins The Silver Leaf Tea Company was founded in 1997 by Ric and Heather Smith of Akron, Ohio. The company has been sold twice and is now owned by the Texas based New Innovation Companies, Inc. Under New Innovation Companies' ownership Silver Leaf Tea Company expanded into over 800 teas from the original 100 teas offered. Silver Leaf Tea Company private labels tea for many tea companies, restaurants, and tea rooms which desire to have their own exotic and gourmet tea lines.
