Silicone Power Batteries are high power secondary batteries developed and manufactured with electrolytes of low level liquid sodium. The successful development of the neutral silicone battery has been credited by State Intellectual Property Office as a new and green technology. The patent is currently held by Jiangmen Yuyang Special Storage Battery Co. Ltd. in China. The development process took several years of time. Silicate compound have been made for cell electrode structure, material composition and battery manufacture processes. The brand new neutral electrolyte has minimal corrosion effect making it possible to recycle the electrodes after the battery is properly disposed. The disposed electrolyte, in the state of semi-solid grains, is a high quality fertilizer rather than soil pollutant. A recent study by Southern California Edison evaluated the performance of the EV 1242 silicate battery. The chemical composition of the battery consists of silicon alloy metal and non-acidic chemical solution making it a green and environmental friendly option in the battery industry. Applications * Electric Vehicles power and start up :* Dongfeng Yangtse Automobile’s electric buses equipped with Silicone Power Batteries have been in operation in Wuhan and Hebei province in China since mid August . The electric buses are equipped with fifty 12V 150AH Silicone Power Batteries; the rated power is 60KW with top speed up to 100-120 KM/h; when fully charged, the mileage is around 150 km. :* During , 2 electric cars equipped with Silicone Power Batteries were exhibited . Both vehicles have maximum speed of around 80-100 km/h with maximum mileage of around 200 km. No announcement has been made by the company regarding the mass production of the vehicles. * Rail locomotive and passenger train power :* Currently used by Ministry of Railways of the People’s Republic of China * Backup power supply for telecommunications systems and electricity systems * Ship devices * UPS and computer backup power supply * Deep sea lighting and power supply * Mine lighting power * Fire and safety systems
