Sijekovac massacre

The Sijekovac massacre in Serb media refers to the alleged killings of 60 Serb soldiers or civilians (the newspaper reports are contradict) in a village of Sijekovac near Bosanski Brod, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in March 1992. The alleged crimes were committed by members of the 108. brigade of Croatian National Guard. In non-Serb media Sijekovac was place of battle between Serbian and Croatian troops. There is still no court validation of the event. However a survivor was used as defense witness in the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia Prijedor Genocide Trial.
According to Helsinki Watch, there was no evidence of the use of excessive force. That those killed were soldiers, or civilians caught in the crossfire. Although District Prosecutor in Zenica, Enisa Adrovic, reported the exhumation of 59 corpses under the supervision of Federation Commission for Missing Persons, suspicion was voiced by Savo Strbac, Director of the Veritas Information Center, who noted that the 18 dead children found seemed to vastly exceed the amount of children actually reported as missing from Sijekovac.
