History
On the first semester of the School Year 1964 - 1965 eight Agricultural Engineering students from the Central Mindanao University decided to form an organization for the purpose of instituting a strong bond of brotherhood , to extend help, and to do well in their academic studies. Thus, they formally formed an honor society that purely consist of Agricultural Engineering students. As it turned out, their number of members did not reach the minimum requirement so the school did not fully recognize them. On the second semester of the School Year 1965 - 1966 the founders came to a conclusion to reintroduce the organization as a fraternity thereby replacing the name Society of Agricultural Engineering (SAE) to Sigma Alpha Epsilon (ΣAE).
Relationship with Sigma Alpha Epsilon of the United States
During the 1970's the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Philippines came to know the existence of a much older fraternity of the same name which was Sigma Alpha Epsilon U.S.A., this phenomenon led some of the local chapter members in initiating informal communications with Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity's headquarters in Illinois, United States of America, it was not until 1984, that a formal communication was sent to the Eminent Supreme Recorder of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, in the U.S.A. The purpose of such communication was to institute a dialogue and strong friendship between the fraternities with the exact same name. The communications between Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity U.S.A. and Sigma Alpha Epsilon Philippines were initiated during the authority of Dr. Publico Llanes and was carried over by the late Dr. Amado Exile, who succeeded him. At an unspecified moment, Kenneth D. Tracey, the Eminent Supreme Recorder of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity in the U.S.A. at that time, invited Dr. Publico A. Llanes as a guest to one of their National Conventions. On the occasion, after a series of conversations of a certain unification, it was unfortunate to conclude that due to the opposing views and differences as that of Fraternity history, women's membership into Sigma Alpha Epsilon Philippines, and the differences in currency and fiscal management, a formal affiliation was not achieved.
