Sidney Allinson is a British novelist and military historian.(Born in Witton le Wear, Durham, England, October 20, 1930. He grew up in Southport, UK attended Christ Church Secondary School, was employed by the Southport Guardian newspaper, and served overseas with Britain's Royal Air Force before emigrating to Canada in 1951. He was a Creative Director with Ogilvy & Mather International Advertising, in Toronto, New York, Houston, and Los Angeles. He then served as Communications Policy Adviser to the Ontario Government. Sidney Allinson now resides in Victoria, British Columbia, having previously lived in Toronto, Ontario and Houston, Texas. He is a past-Director of the Royal Canadian Military Institute, Chairman of the Pacific Coast Branch of the Western Front Association, and President of the Sir Winston Spencer Churchill Society of Vancouver Island.
