Shy Blinds (Company) Shy Blinds is a Queensland window furnishings company with retail and commercial premises in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. The company is a provider for the commercial and interior design markets. Shy Blinds was featured in Queensland Homes Magazine in 2006. History Shy Blinds was founded in 2004 by Justin Ralph. During its short history it has grown rapidly to become one of Queensland's largest window fashion suppliers. It is known for promoting itself along side the suppliers it distributes. During its history it has received a range of sales and small business awards and was a finalist in the Sunshine Coast Excellence in Business Awards 2009 . Products Shy Blinds initially sold Luxaflex products then expanded to include other prominent brands. The range of products includes blinds, shutters, external screens, louvres, awnings and curtains including motorised and fully automated furnishings. Many of its products have been featured in some of Queensland's premier commercial construction projects and have been prominent in the well regarded Queensland Homes Magazine. The company publicly advocates the use of child safe window products as poorly designed and installed blinds and curtains have contributed to the deaths of almost a dozen children in Australia in the last decade due to cord strangulation . Along side other vendors they lobby this cause during kidsafe week (November each year). Brands Shy Blind distributes many of the major manufacturers of window furnishings available in the Australian market including Vertilux, Silent Gliss, Luxaflex, Helioscreen, Markilux Awnings and Maxim Louvres. It is the largest supplier of Luxaflex window furnishings in Queensland. Locations Shy Blinds has showrooms in Kunda Park in the Sunshine Coast and Ashgrove in Brisbane and services the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Brisbane areas.
